A pinch of sugar and a dash of salt were some of the first words I remember my grandmother saying in the kitchen full of fantastic smells that made my mouth water.  I started baking with her as a child. My grandmother hosted friends and family regularly; making the desserts became my sweet spot.  She would hand me a dessert recipe  that I could barely read and say, "It'd be nice if you could make this..."  I quickly realized I was being challenged.

Over the years, I've tested and tweaked many of her recipes and created a few of my own.  In 2012,  I established "Chica"  to arouse the appetite with eye appealing,  tantalizing, delicious delicacies. Baking connects me to friends and family and introduces me to new opportunities which enables me to give freely of myself.

I spent over 20 years in the hospitality industry focused on event management; providing services for general party planning, corporate event planning, weddings, and fundraising galas. As an experienced planner I can bring your vision of the event to life or point you in the right direction if you have no idea what you want for your special day.
